Sadly, the passing of James Brown, with all his flaws and all his greatness, marked a ‘black letter’ day in the realm of Funk music. While he was called the Godfather of soul, it was his Funk hits that got most of his airplay. This CD does an excellent job of presenting the singles of Brown, but omits many of his better songs that were not hits. For this reason, this cd is recommended to those who don’t have any James Brown cds, but want something to start with.

Compilations come and go; are listened to and perhaps forgotten. Not this cd. This is one cd that will get played over and over again, so in that way it is a good purchase. This is one of about 25 cds that I regularly give as ‘gifts’ to people, and I’ve yet to hear a complaint! Released on Polydor, this is not a budget compilation that clogs the cd lists on EBAY: it is a high quality pop hits package. A good price for this CD used would be $4.99 or less; a new copy should be priced around the $7.99-$11 range.

I BROUGHT THIS CD FOR A FRIEND AND THEY HAVE NOT STOPPED PLAYING IT. OH MY GOODNESS I WISH I WOULDN'T HAVE EVER PURCHASED IT. JUST KIDDING

I LOVE this James Brown CD. I have been playing it almost daily since I have received it. It's truly a great compilation of his hits.

It;s all good glad to have found it when I did.James will always be a CD I will listen to. Hate the fact that he is gone forever.

A get moving CDBought because it had the son I feel Good Which is the way I feel after having brain sugery

Decided to buy because it was available at a good price. I didn't receive the first item shipped. Contacted seller and another was sent in timely manner.

It was as describe. I was looking for this as a present for someone that could not locate this particular cd and did not have access to ebay. I was happy to see that it was an easy find and perfect.

I am saddened by the passing of James Brown, "the hardest working man in showbusiness". I wanted to purchase a CD with many of his big hits on it (lots of bang for my buck). The uplifting hits on this CD really make me feel good and I like to play it in my car.

You get all of James Brown's most famous hits just like you remember singing them. It really brings back great memories and if you like him, you will love this cd.

I decided to buy this CD for my mom. She loves it. I love it as well. You can't go wrong with buying this James Brown CD. It captures his greatest hits as you can tell by the name of the album.

I could listen to this CD from the beginning til the end and never get tired of it. The CD has a lot hits that are sampled by artist today.
