If you like the James Patterson (thriller) novels, then you will like this one. Why? James Patterson writes those two to four page chapters which makes this book move along quickly. James patterson does an excellent job of drawing pictures with words. He describes each and every character so well that you think that you would recognize them if you saw them walking down the street. His novels (and this one) have those multiple twists and turns that James Patterson is famous for. I liked this book, and I am looking forward to reading every book in this series (I believe that there are seven books in this series). Read this one.
This was my second James Patterson book to read. It was fantastic...it was a quick read. It's the kind of book you don't want to put down until you've finished it. I finished it in 3 hours! The best part is that it is book one of a series, so I can hardly wait to read the subsequent ones! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery that has twists and turns and holds one's attention until the very end of the book...keeps me wanting more!
I bought the book for my Husband, he loves James Patterson and he already read it. I purchased this book because it was a good price and per the picture in very good condition. Thank you
Lindsay Boxer is a San Francisco homicide investigator and she is called to a most disturbing crime scene in which a bride and groom have been killed on their honeymoon night. As Lindsay begins the investigation another murder takes place...the same M.O......a bride and groom on their honeymoon night. What kind of sicko killer is she up against? The investigation seems to lead nowhere so she turns to her friend, the medical examiner on the case. Both women enlist the help of an investigative reporter and the assistant D.A. to form a club known as "The Women's Murder Club." Each does their own investigating and they meet to compare notes. As they go through the pieces they come upon on item that peaks their interest greatly. There is an unpublished author whose book depicts each of these same murders in detail. They don't have any concrete evidence against the author just yet, but twist and turns keep taking them here and there in a spinning thriller suspense until the end of the book and the shocking revelation.
I finally got around to reading this series by Mr. Patterson, which I feel now I grossly over-looked! "1st To Die" is the first novel and it is wonderfully written and I just love the group of woman who take charge to find the killer, which would have been almost impossible if done on their own. There are devastating health issues Lindsay is dealing with but she never lets it stop her, in fact I think it keeps her going stronger. The plot is fast paced and the mystery itself is one you love, because it is full of the usual twist and turns and you'll have a time guessing. I can see where Mr. Patterson uses his expertise from his Alex Cross series to weave this tale. Fans will not be disappointed. I just wish I had started reading them earlier, but I read this book in one day!
My husband and I are HUGH fans of James Patterson. We read everything we can get written by him. It is an excellent book. WE are trying to read all of them
I received this book and it was in so so shape. The front cover of the book had been bent back. But all in all it was a good buy for the money that was paid.
First of the series - I bought this as I had heard many good things about this series. I had read many of James Patterson's books but this was suspenseful and twisting throughout the book. Never really knew who the culprit was until the end. Couldn't put the book down - I would recommend this book but must warn that it is very graphic when describing the crime scenes.
MY SISTER NEEDED THE FIRST BOOK OF THIS SERIES. I WANTED TO BUY IT FOR HER, BUT WAS WORKING A LOT. I WENT TO EBAY, FOUND IT, BID ON IT, AND IT WAS HERE IN A WEEK. ONE LESS GIFT I HAD TO "GO FIND." THE ONLY THING, IF I HAD TO PICK SOMETHING WAS THE SHIPPING COST WAS A LITTLE MUCH FOR A BOOK. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SENT "BOOK RATE", CHEAPER.
I bought my book about two months ago, it was inexpensive and in great condition when I recieved it, which I recieved quickly. Loved working with her hope to do buisness again! Thanks so much!
i bought this book because i love james patterson books. sometimes i can't get anything done for reading his books. good story line, good murder mystery. what i dislike about his books is some of the language in it. other than that, he writes wonderful stores.
Friend of mine gave me the 4th of July. After reading it, I had to have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and now 6th.
I never cared for the Alex Cross novels Patterson writes about. So after reading this series, I was rally impressed and drawn in.
I could not stop reading them. I love Lindsay Boxer. Her battles with her personal issues and work issues give her a realistic personality I could relate to. I could not stop reading all these books. Then after ripping through them. I went back and re-read them. I gained a lot of details in the second read.
I myself loved all of the books. I highly recommend them to any and all readers.
I started reading The Women's Murder Club the very end of 2005 and I haven't stopped! This book will get you totally hocked!!!! Non stop James Patterson! He just knows how to write! And a Women's Club no doubt how ever does he do it.
Not too much I can tell you here except get it read it and don't stop! 6th Target is out today and I'm itching to get it!
Let the games begin! Start the journey now!
.... 2nd Chance 3rd Degree 4th of July 5th Horseman
ALL GREAT READ! I had a hard time getting through 3rd Degree but I made it I didn't give up. The next two were awesome!
James Patterson never disappoints. You can count on a great story every time. When you read this book you will be hooked so I suggest having the next few books in the series ready and waiting.
I bought this book about 2 weeks ago and just finished it. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes detective books. The author grabs your attention right from the beginning and holds it until the last page. He has a way of bringing the characters to life, you feel like you know them.
I have read this series and loved it!! I lent out my copy to someone and haven't gotten it back yet and had someone else waiting to read it,so where else do you go for a book or anything else but.................. E-Bay!!
A good, page-turning thriller but without the depth of Patterson's previous Alex Cross novels. Did you ever watch an edge-of-the-seat movie with ho-hum actors? Like that movie, this book is exciting and interesting to the end; but, unlike Patterson's previous novels, I wouldn't have minded if any of the main characters had been "eliminated."
I read the 4th & 5th books in the series before this one so it was nice to go back to the beginning and see where lieutenant Boxer was coming from. If you have read other books in the series I recommend going back and reading this one. And If you are new to the series then this is the place to start!
In this book Detective Boxer joins forces with 3 other awesome women to solve a string of very sad and unusual murders. Brides and Grooms are being murdered on their wedding day. The main villian is a total sleaze. Just when it looks like the murders have been solved by Lindsay, there is a twist that causes total doubt. Does she have the right guy? During the investigation Lindsay finds out that she has a life threatening disease and must go through blood transfusions to fight it. She's fighting for her life, chasing a totally insane killer and she falls in love!!! There's alot going on in this book. A great start to a great murder mystery series!
