The card received was in great condition, I would think that it would grade a PSA 9 minimum. The card appears to be pack fresh. The only thing that was somewhat concerning was the shipping. Item was sent in plain envelope w/ top loader and penny sleeve. The card made it in great shape, but I have seen cards that did not fare so well shipped in a similar fashion.
Overall, I am very pleased with the item. And I would do business with the seller again.

Griffey 89 D
***
Now I am wondering why K. Griffey D 89 came up instead of the 97 Topps set I bought which I reviewed below.

Nonetheless, I have bought and sold many of the same. Ken Griffey is a LEGEND much like Willie Mays was to the 50s and 60s kids. This was a 5 tool star, the ceiling was the limit, he had the sweetest swing, and was a spectacular athlete robbing many a HR that made ESPN sports hi-lites after the game. It was he and guys like Tino Martinez, Edgar Martinez, Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez, Jay Buhner that brought the Seattle Mariners to prominence as the team of the Great Northwest after sinking the mighty Yanks in the '95 ALCS.

Grif's got over 600 career HR. It's a safe bet, his plaque is waiting for him in Cooperstown. My take, how can you ever go wrong on buying a Hall of Famer's card. You simply can't. So I would say, BUY, BUY, and BUY now while it is still cheap, because no matter, this guy is a legend for the ages, and his value cannot help but to go up for many years to come. You don't see anyone wanting their money or is unsatisfied with a Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente or Sandy Koufax card do you? Same thing here!

Till next time >>> happy buying!

Joe

1997 Topps Set
***

1997 and 1998 were limited SET production years for Topps. I am a METS set collector/seller. It is much easier to pick up a set, than to buy boxes of packs, and open them ad infinitum. This young gentleman, happened to be offering this and other sets given to him. Albeit that fishing is his bag, you can find no one more hard working, no one more diligent, no one more honest, no one who would go the extra mile (like myself as well) to satisfy the customer. While I thought this was a complete set, the seller did do his best to make good on his part. The tough thing about this and cards from 93-01 they had this kind of coating on them, that made it easy to stick to each other, and thus ruining the card. It is best to make sure before buying if these cards are individually sleeved. All in all, a fair deal.
