When I bid on this, it was listed as proof. It also said proof on corner of holder. It was not a proof. If fact it appears very circulated.

) The 1974 S Eisenhower Dollar was the last year that silver was used in a circulating Eisenhower dollar. Even in 1974 the Eisenhower dollars minted at the Denver and Philadelphia mints were copper-nickel clad. Only the San Francisco mint used 40% silver content making this the last of the Eisenhower "silver" dollars. This coin is a very desirable addition to any collection of silver dollars. I am very pleased with this coin in its uncirculated condition.

Purchase of a 1974 Eisenhower DollarReview created: 11/02/09

I am a coin collector, and I had a space in a coin book to fill up. This was the best price I could find for this particular coin, and the shipping rate was reasonable, so I took the chance and placed a bid. The coin ended up looking better in person than the picture in the auction.
