Album Notes Personnel: Naughty By Nature (rap); Dave Bellochio (keyboards); Yossi Fein (bass); 118th Street Posse, Ben Adler, Lynn M. Scott, Dream Hampton (background vocals). Producers: S.I.D. Reynolds, Naughty By Nature. Following on the heel's of 1991's self-titled smash, Naughty by Nature found themselves pressured to make an album that would stand up to their previous work. 19 NAUGHTY III finds them making a valiant effort to do so, and achieving the near impossibl -striking gold twice. Where in `91 it was the ubiquitous anthem "O.P.P.," in '93 it was "Hip Hop Hooray." The album offers several stellar songs that bridge the gap between accessibility and street grit, all executed with a relaxed and seemingly effortless cool. Thanks to DJ Kay Gee's loose, head-bobbing beats, and the juxtaposition of Treach's smooth, melodic flow with Vin Rock's angry spitting makes the group a trio in the most vital sense, with each member pulling his own weight. Worthwhile guest appearances by Heavy D and their mentor, Queen Latifah, are peppered throughout this mostly excellent album.
