19 by Adele (CD, Jun-2008, Columbia USA)

I found Adele about year ago on Myspace. I was instantly taken with the single Best for Last. I searched online for the CD because I had to here more from the person who posessed this voice I can only describe as "chunky butter"; unexpected and smooth. I absolutely couldn't find her anywhere not even in the record stores. I waited patiently because I knew she would not get away in the age when her type of music is such a breath of fresh air. I've had the CD in my hands for 3 days now and it's been all I expected. I can't stop listening to it. I still enjoy Best for Last but I seem to repeat Chasing Pavement, Make You Feel My Love which was one of my faves from Garth Brooks. But, I'd have to say Melt My Heart to Stone and Right as Rain are my favorites and touch me personally. I haven't listened to a CD this much since Corrine Bailey Rae. I didn't think to compare Adele to Amy Winehouse until I read a comment here. Although I understand the comparison there is something in Adele's voice that is so well rounded. Her voice reminds me of Sunday afternoon; patient, comfortable, strong but peaceful and not tormented. Her voice makes you want to play her in the background when you're entertaining friends or someone special for the evening. It's nice to see there are at least 12 songs in this world that maintain class, heart and beauty. I can't wait to hear more from Adele.

Right now I'm looking for unique vocalists and I found what I'm looking for in Adele. What a unique voice -- both sweet and edgey at the same time. I LOVE this cd. I particularly love it because every track is stimulating to listen to. I put Adele in the mix with some of my other favorites like: Alana Davis, Melody Gardot, Fiona Apple and Paula Cole. Superb!

I am really enjoying this cd. It's not the typical type of music you hear on the radio. I first heard Adele on internet radio, and had to buy the cd. Very glad I did. I would really recommend this CD if you like (Amy Winehouse, Duffy).

I love this CD. I first saw Adele perform on T.V. and I immediately wanted to hear more, so I purchased the CD. It more than met my expectations. She has a wonderful voice.

Britain, as of late is producing wonderful female singers, talented witers and singers, Adele is a unique artist who will be around for decades to come. I love her especially on her soulful balads.

This is a wonderful album performed by an amazing artist. I would suggest it to anyone who saw her on the Grammy's.

Great CD! Her voice is a rarity today and is so different from most artists today. So refreshing! And she doesn't fit the 'mold' of the typical female celebrity artist. She's not a size 2 with in-your-face sexuality and sound mixer voice over. She'll be around for a while.

I saw Adele on Saturday Night Live and loved "Chasing Pavements," which prompted me to purchase the CD. Her smooth, soulful and raspy voice over beautiful piano compositions made it a pleasure to listen to. The lyrics are thought-provoking and the the simple vocal arrangements are soothing. I have had the CD for a month now, and I still listen to it repeatedly every single day.

This is a great CD! Her voice is AMAZING!! I bought this CD about 4 weeks ago and was immediately impressed with her singing talents and the differences in the songs. It's not all the same beats...some songs have a jazzy feel and others remind me of KT Tunstall. I originally heard her on VH1 on the top 20 countdown with the song "Chasing Pavements". I would definitely recommend this CD!

I saw Adele on the TV program "Sunday Morning" and had to have her CD. She has the most wonderful voice! Very jazzy - bluesy. Definitely one of my favorites! Was glad to see her nominated for a grammy.

I am in love with this cd! She sings these sexy songs that just want to make you slow dance. Even if it's by your self! She does sing with an accent so, it may be hard for you to understand but, to me that just gives the music even more character. I am a white straight 40+ female but, I am in love with the smooth, jazzy, r&b, sounds of Adele19.

I ordered an adele Cd. All I got was a "wish" CD. I wish I had adele's cd. For adele's sake I rated excellent b/c I know it's a great cd. Still don't own it though.

this singer has an amazing voice. i am 47 and my daughter is 16 i will not say how old my mother is but i will say that all three of us are enjoying this cd very much. i will definitly be purchasing her next cd. i may have to purchase three copies just so i can have one.
