San Fran Rush: Extreme Racing N64
Review created: 10/26/08

Most classic game ever!!! I spend as much time playing this as i do Madden 09 for my PS3. Obviously the graphics are worse, but again this is one of the most fun video games I've ever played.

  Just Like the Arcade
Review created: 02/23/08

This is one old-school fun game!! You race famous cars (with different names apparently) on San Francisco streets and try to find different ways and shortcuts to win the game. The gameplay is just the same as the arcade and if you liked the arcade, you'd love this game also!!

Other games in the San Francisco Rush series such as "Rush 2", and "San Francisco Rush 2049" are also highly recommended.

  Rush It Baby! Oh yeah!

Pros:
Fast, exciting, good fun for the whole family.

Cons:
Computer always beats me on the more complicated tracks.

Rush It San Francisco rush, one of the fastest racing games you'll probably find. Well at least when dealing with regular cars. Car speeds get up near 180, with the right car. Ramps, steep hills, and dangerous short cut tunnels abound in every level. So what happens when you mix speed with danger? San Francisco Rush is what happens. With all this, dangerously high flying stunts, and unique crashes are destined to ensue. Car Select With the car select you can choose from a number of racing cars, even a bus. After the car is picked, you can pick between automatic or stick. You can then change.

Pros:
Excellent replay value, Expert to beginner

Cons:
Non-customizable cars

A couple months ago I bought San Francisco Rush from a friend. I had played it in the arcades and couldn't wait to get my hands on an n64 version. I was NOT disappointed... Overview - San Francisco Rush is one of the best racing games on the market today. Even though it's old, it still stands up to the competitors. The game features 8 cars, two special cars, and the rare F1 racer. It also has 6 tracks to play on. Cars - The cars in San Francisco Rush are the heart of the game. I prefer the extreme car vs. the other levels of car difficulty because the handling is the most sensitive. You can...

  Got Lead Weights?

Pros:
Lots of secrets, shortcuts and options. Good (not great) graphics, control and challenge.

Cons:
The music may drive people nuts. Graphics aren't as great as today's games, but at least there's no pop-up.

(Note: The game was originally released in 1997) This is the first N64 arcade racer done right. Sure, there was Crusin' USA, but that game gave us nothing to work with! SF Rush, however, is chock full of secrets, and keeps the replay value high. Sure, Rush is an arcade racer, but there's also an adventure element when you have to search for keys to unlock cars. Rush features the standard circut race, that makes you go through 24 courses (6 locations with 4 variations). This surley won't be completed in one day. You also have the option to race one track. Combine that with the option to adjust.

  SF Rush Memories
Review created: 12/17/99
by: thorgod77 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Good Racer

Cons:
Not as good as sequel, in fact Rush 2 is far superior.

Oh lord, do I ever remember this game. I stayed up with a friend playing it until 4 AM, getting all the keys, searching through all the tracks, unlocking all the secret cars, and beating the entire game. I loved it, even though I had no memory pack to save it, so we just hit reset and started from the beginning. It was great. This game provided me hundreds of hours of entertainment by making me race and race and race adn race until my face fell off. Then I got sick of it because I knew it too well. A week later, Rush 2, Extreme RAcing USA came out. Get the second one, it will be better for...

I Left My Car In San Francisco
Review created: 05/11/00
by: The_Big_Man -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great graphics, great game play, good choice of tracks, good choice of cars, lots of secrets

Cons:
Fewer tracks than most racing games

What can I say, I'm hooked on this game. When I first played it in the arcades I was amazed with everything, and the N64 port lives up to the arcade version. When Midway made this game for the N64 they didn't skip anything, in fact they added to the game. They doubled the number of tracks and cars for you to be able to use right off the bat. They also put in hidden keys that unlock new cars. There is also a hidden track! Overall there are 7 tracks and 9 cars, up from 3 tracks and 3 cars in the arcade. The graphics in this game are some of the best the N64 has to offer, as far as I'm concerned.
