Stephen King Done Right!
John Cusak does a great job of portraying a sinical author who writes about scary places he visits. He delivers lines that are pure Stephen King. Too many times in King's movies, directors jump straight into the story line with little or no build up. His books are not meant to be filmed, in my opinion. You have to read the book and/or short story to really enjoy and indeed appreciate Stephen King's work. The movie 1408 only touches the surface of what lies on the page, but it was presented well on screen. If you like the book, you'll like the movie. It begins slowly but builds to a frightening conclusion. There is no gore really, but it's too intense for some young viewers. It was given a three star rating and I concur, three stars.
