The 10th Kingdom--My favorite book

First off, this has been my favorite book since it first came out. It is all about what happens after the fairytale "happily ever after" ended. All of the Grim Fairytale stories are true...and not the Disney version. The characters all created nine kingdoms that were run by Hansel and Gretel's Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, ect. However, when a girl named Virginia and her father, Tony, are accidentally caught up in a whirlwind of trouble thanks to Snow White's great grandson, Wendel, being turned into a dog by his evil step-mother. The group is joined by Wolf and the four must try and save the nine kingdoms meanwhile uncovering some dark paths, truths and long-lost treasures. This story is captivating and adventurous. The characters are heartfelt and fun. It is clever in the way it combines many myths and legends, meanwhile giving it its own. This book was also a mini-series on TV which also had great characters and creation. I highly recommend this book because it is my favorite. I currently bought this copy because my first original copy is starting to fall apart from all of the use and the second copy I owned was taken by an avid fan friend of mine. I need at least two copies of this book in my collection! It is my favorite book (along with Stephen King's Dreamcatcher).
