THIS IS A GREAT BOOK THAT IS FULL OF GREAT PHOTOS OF THE SCREAMING EAGLES IN ACTION DURING WW11. THERE IS ALOT OF BOOKS OUT THERE ABOUT WW11 BUT THIS BOOK IS REALLY SPECIAL. IT HAS SO MANY PICTURES AND DETAILS ABOUT THE MEN IN THESE PHOTOS. I LOVE AND RESPECT ALL VETERANS OF OUR MILITARY BUT THE 101st HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I PAID SO LITTLE FOR IT. IT IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE THAT ENJOYS READING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF WW11.

Although there are many WWII military history books written about U.S. paratroops, some are on the tedious or dull side. This book is the kind you can't put down--eye-catching photos of impressive quality and pithy anecdotes of the great exploits of the Screaming Eagles. Every person who thought 'Band of Brothers' was the definitive work on the 101 in WWII needs to pick up this book and get, as Paul Harvey would say, the rest of the story. The book is invaluable to collectors because of its multitude of quality period photos and photos of authentic militaria from the collection of one of the foremost WWII paratroop historians extant. Kudos to Mark Bando for this great contribution to history and historians.

i got this item as a christmas gift for a good friend. he is interested in the 101st airborne durning world war 1 its a book i think he will enjoy reading

The book is fantastically written. You can tell by reading the book the author Mark Bando has done alot work researching the subject matter. He tells the story of the 101st in the words of the vets. The book flows well, and has a good balance of photos, and narrative. I've read numerous books on the subject matter of the 101 st during WWII, and this book ranks up there with the best ones I've seen so far. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have so far. It's a keeper and hard to put down once you've started.
