ok tool fans.......long time tool fans will understand the new sound and layering this albumn provides to the ears. all the 11 tracks take you on a journey to new places that only tool can succumb to. The pot is an incredibley guitar based sound that is one of the best on the albumn. 10000 days refers to the length of time his mother suffered, i dont want to give too much away but listen very carefully to the lyrics for wings for marie part 1 and 2.

now lets talk about the rumor of all rumors. this initial release of the may 2nd albumn may only be the teaser. a 2 cd "full" version is being released on may 16th. go to amazon.com and you can verify this for yourself. it is a brilliant marketing ploy, tool fans who are drooling for the new albumn will go out on may 2nd and buy the albumn. then on may 16th, the full albumn will be released and everyone will go get the full version with the decoy and the real one. actually the one from may 2nd is the "B" side of the whole albumn. the official tool newsletter also talks about the decoy release and letting it hit the internet to get us all drooling!!!! be prepared!. and go buy this albumn, support the band!!!!!!!

LOVE the album cover artwork, etc. The CD is great, as is all Tool music, but not as moving as Perfect Circle, I feel.
A definite MUST-BUY for Maynard fans, though.

Doesn't compare with their previous albums

If you listen to it a lot, it grows on you, I guess. Some of it is catchy and the vocals/music is of a higher standard than that of most popular acts out there TODAY. A few of the songs are indulgently long and the lyrics are not amazing, creative or profound. Buy Opiate, Undertow, Aenima, and Lateralus if you want to become a TOOL fan. Buy this album if you want to see an incredible CD cover, it totally is a piece of art worth having.

I decided to buy this CD because I am in love with Tool. Everything they have ever made has been great and this album, 10,000 Days is no exception. I absolutely love it! Each track is artistic and unique, with awesome lyrics. Tool never ceases to amaze me. Another cool thing about it is the packaging. The CD art is actually 3D images that comes with 3D glasses on the cover to veiw all the psychedelic pictures. I am telling you, this album is a must have. :)

I've been a huge fan of TOOL for a very long time...While this album doesn't compare to Opiate or Undertow, it's still an excellent album (much better than Lateralus, or whatever it was called)!! Not to mention, the album art is awsome...it really shows their intelligence and interest in geometry, metaphysics, and occult occurances...

  10,000 Days - Tool (06)

Trully a reflection of the times we're living in.A deep psycidellic bluesy look into the darker side of mans ever changing ever perversely corrupt physiological
being.Twisting and turning it's way through the labyrinth of my psyche.Alot of my freinds don't appreciate entire album as well as i do.They mainly like the radio play'd tracs.Although it don't hold a candle to AENIMA Tools ultimatly best album yet. (thats my opinion any way)
But on the other hand it' nearly impossable for an artist to out do a masterpeice.Overall it's not just an album it's an experience and the 3D discography on the CD booklet is very unique and original.I've never seen or heard of any creation like it in the history of music.Album art seems to of been a thing of the past but Tool hes brought it back in a big way.I bought this album because i'm a big fan of TOOL and i've got everything they've ever released in the past.I basicly bought it hearing but only one trac on the radio. Not only that but i've been waiting for years for a new album from TOOL.

  Ebay review.

I purchased this item because I am a Tool (band) fan and I wanted to hear more off of this album. Unfortunately the person I purchased this from had problems with his paypal account. It would not let him receive any payments. So we were unable to complete the transaction. On a side note, I am a walking, talking eBay advertisement. Always asking people to buy / sell on eBay, telling them how easy and how much money they will save if they do their research. Believe me, most of the people I know are probably annoyed at the fact that I bring up eBay at least once a day.

Tool, best true musical geniuses of my generation.

I purchased this cd about a month ago or so and was completely taken in by this album. I found the graghics appealing on the cd case, as well as the optical veiwer built into the cd case. The veiwer is used to veiw the picture book inside the case in a complete 3-d environment (VERY COOL). The music on this album is a true composite of the deep lyrical poem's produced by this band's members in a slow yet fast pace. Tool has always written their own lyrics as well as their music. Whether you are new to the band Tool's music, or an old time follower of their musical genius, i beleive you would enjoy this album tremendously.

  10,000 Days is a masterpiece

Tool is known for dark twisted lyrics and awesome music all together. Man, I'm telling ya, they just keep getting better with time, kinda like Maynard's wine I suppose. I love the vibe of this record, for me, it is more of a spiritual journey through the mind of Maynard. The album art is spectacular!!! Its worth it just for the art alone. You will not be disappointed with this , and may even like TOOl more after listening to this.

  Tool Does It Again.
Review created: 06/04/06
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

First of all I am a big fan of Tool and I've been with the band since 1993. I have all their albums including the one which is currently out of print (Salival.) Now I was very excited to learn that Tool was working on a new album so I checked eBay and some other sites for information on it, since I was going to buy it.

I later bought it and I was not dissappointed. The album is virtually superb. The lyrics are full of hidden metaphors and they really impressed me, Maynard James Keenan's lyrics are once again, excellent. He reminds us that he is a musical genious and can speak about everything including his mother. His brilliance combined with the great minds being Danny Carey, Adam Jones and Justin Chancellor, creates one great album.

I could rave on and on, but I will make it simple. If you like Tool, you will like this album, if you like metal, you will like this album. Some notable songs include Vicarious (1), Jambi (2) The Pot (6) and the Wings For Marie epic. I hope this review helps your decision.

  The Right TOOL
Review created: 06/02/06

You know immediately upon hearing the new TOOL CD, "10,000 Days" that you are in for a wild ride. Simply put, this CD ROCKS! A must listen for any aspiring rock musician, especially for drummers. Tight riffs between bass and drums, excellent guitar work on top and the vocals finish it up.

This could be their finest work yet. A couple of the tracks are spacy & dark, a bit slow at times, but that is TOOL. Time signatures keep changing and you never know which direction the band is going to motor. All in all, this is a CD you should own. In my opinion, it is money well spent. Oh, and what a killer CD jacket and insert! Again, nothing but the best from TOOL. Don't download these songs = contribute to TOOL. If any band deserves proceeds from their hard work and musicianship, it is TOOL. Buy the CD.

  10,000 days tool
Review created: 05/15/06

from the fast breaking opener to the subtle undertow we've all come to expect from Maynard and the boys, this album rocks. With a subtle and fresh sound, they recreate themselves while staying true to what is expected from a tool album. Dark, gothic, and yes, even dangerous, this album seems to have more energy than the last, yet pushes with the same eerie style through the speakers and holds you tight while you check under the bed; don't turn the lights off, just turn the stereo up and invite someone over to watch your back. A+ effort. A must have for any Tool fan and a good place to start for a newcomer; "Undertow" still holds the title, but this album can definately hold its own.

It seems like 10,000 days since their last release but it was worth it! It just goes to show that you can't rush an artist. You can listen to this album straight through with no gaps in the intensity, each song blends seamlessly with the next. Great job on the graphics in the CD case as well, several twisted 3D pictures to tease your eyes. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Sounds that could only come from Tool
Review created: 05/14/06

Tool delivers big with its latest CD, 10,000 days. Tracks number one and five are a couple of my personal favorites, with five being the well known Muddy Waters song. Tool delievers with its signature sound of hard hitting guitar riffs and drums that have a rhythm unique to Tool, and has created the following of fans that Tool enjoys today. Lead singer Maynard throws in a little new sound with the song Muddy Waters. He sings in a higher pitch than is common for him, and pulls it off extremely well. It gives Tool a new, fresh sound, but while still sounding astoundingly Tool-ish. The rest of the CD is excellent also, with many eight to ten minute songs that is the norm for Tool. Many of the songs start off slow, and build to a crescendo in the last few minutes, leading the listener on a journey through the song that ends with intense guitar, hard hitting bass and drums, and Maynard's unmistakable singing. This buy is well worth it, not only for the music, but also for the CD cover art. While downloading seems like the way to go, one can miss out on the artistic side by not having the cover, which is equipped with special goggles to view the art. While these are just a couple of small magnifying glasses, they provide an interesting perspective on the cover art, and the art within on various pages. It is well worth it to purchase the actual CD, esspecially if one cares about their collection of music, and not just how much they can stream for free and store on their computer. To sum up: Tool hits a homerun with its latest, 10,000 days.

If you're not familiar with Tool then you might not understand the album, but if you are a Tool fan then I think you will really like it. Vicarious kicks ass, Jambi kicks even more ass and the Pot is very catchy and highlights Maynards lyrical ability as well as any other song Tool has ever done. I don't know about the rest of the songs because I keep listening to those three!
