Major League Baseball 2K6 (PlayStation 2)

if this game is as good as last years 2k5 it dosnt matter whos on the cover the 2006 the show isnt that good its like every other base ball game out there

Derek Jeter on the game cover is so awesome.I mean the swing stick,and you can play as a base runner it is the best game ever,and for all rookies and people who criticize games the first time they play,when the pitcher releases the ball prees down on the right analoge stick,if you want a nice contact swing let go of the stick when you think you can make contact,but if you want a power swing after you step push the stick foward when you think you can hit the ball,but if your a rookie you can customize the game to your own liking or do rookie modes good luck to you rookies,vetarans,all stars,and hall of famers.

Good game, I reccomend to the baseball fan. Cool new features, an excellent buy! World Baseball Classic mode is very good, choose from a variety of countries.

I'm a fan of MLB and the new bating system using the right analog stick is great. you feel that the game is real and you rea the one who is behin the bat.

Very dissapointed that MVP wasnt able to come out in a MLB format this year. The graphics in this game dont compare, and the little nuances on the uniforms of some teams are noticed. Ok at the right price I guess but I am not impressed. Y

this game is too close to 2k5. the features are pretty much the same but now without the espn presentation, and without the option to have the user control all 30 teams (now it is down to 4). It doesnt even have the new busch stadium in the game...i expected more and better if the price was gonna go up this year...

If you are not a baseball fan or are untalented at playing video games then you might not like it. Some stats are a little off though it seems.

This game looks horrible, plays horrible. I was really in disbelief when I put it in. I got The Show the other day and it just plain blows 2k6 out of the water. The Show is so visually pleasant to play. People aren't that happy with The Show either and say to get MVP 05, but if you must choose between The Show and 2k6, please please please go with The Show!!

it is a great game but a yankee is on the cover so its stock is down. get mlb 06 instead, it has big papi on the cover

I am a very large baseball fan. Before my stroke I loved to attend baseball games and my wife and I would often go to the minor league games in our town in California. Since the stroke the loud crowds every night have put a damper on attending a lot of games, so besides getting Extra Innings on satellite each year, I buy myself a baseball game to play on the playstation. The 2K6 version of this game is a very big disappointment compared to the 2005 release of MLB by EA sports. The graphics are not great, and the database does not seem to have as many players as the EA version did. You can not manage your minors and pay games with them as you did in the EA version. The sound bites are often used in the wrong situation. For example Joe Morgan often says things like "That is a great two strike pitch" when it was the first pitch of the game! Also, I lay as the cardinals and John Miller keeps referring to my bullpens as the Colorado Rockies. I can not stand Joe Morgan. Dwayne Kiper and Mike Ktrocow (sp) are less annoying on the EA sports version.

This was just what we had been looking for and it was excellent. Works very good and is just what we expected. We bought it for a present for our Grandson and he has had a great time playing it. We had looked and looked for this game and could not find it so it was great that we found it on ebay. Very happy with it.

One of the best baseball games. It is a gift for my nephew. It was shipped fast and in great conditions!!!

I like it cos actually i bought it for my fiance, and he loves this game. It had few scratches but it doesn't really affect the game that much. So it was a good buy for now.

This was one of the quickiest packages I have received!!! Immediate response!!

Our seven year old son started playing baseball this spring. He was slowly getting the strategy of the game; building a fondness etc. We bought him this game and now he is a die-hard baseball player and fan. He knows all the players names and loves to watch the game on TV. He can't get enough batting practice outside. He challenges the entire family to this playstation game and has the most fun beating his parents. We have to limit his playing time or he would be playing 24/7. ENJOY!

I rented this game the other day due to the argument that it was a bad game.
What I found surprised me.
1. The graphics are not up to what I was used to. The players lack definition and style. I almost think they spent so much time analyzing the players they forgot to make them look human. (Hope this does get better in the future.)
2. The Hit Stick made for some fun AB’s. I was used to the concept from EA Sports College Baseball game, but I did have to adjust my play with the changes. And I believe there was an option to turn it off if you did not like it.
3. The Pitching was in my opinion the most fun I have ever had in a game. The way you can manipulate the catcher, make pay of pitches, and build on success in game by improvements to the pitcher in game all make me feel like they did do some good. The way the catcher works the batter helping you to get the outs on the players you own scouting reports on is cool in itself. Stress placed on the pitcher in jams made for fun baseball as well. No other game I have played made me feel like I was really there trying to just throw that strike with 2 outs and bases juiced. The pitches aim jerks all over the strike zone when he gets raddled.
4. The coach can hype up his team by arguing and the pitching coach can really calm down a pitcher who is struggling or in a bind. The options to fire and hire different coaches and staff just gave it that much more of a Madden like effect of running your own ball club.
5. On the down side I didn’t really agree with how they rated some of the players with skills. It seemed to be very unforgiving and although I know many players are below average some of the local hero’s ratings were poor overall.
6. The fielding is hard to get down. Maybe it was because I was going from using the right Analog stick to the buttons again but the throws seemed sluggish and the movement in the outfield seemed slow except when using speed burst. The player AI seems shaky on ground balls and base coverage. But maybe I just need to play it more to get that right.
7. The scouting reports on the players are information overload but helpful at times.
8. Overall I enjoyed it. Having been a closing pitcher in High School I loved the changes made to make you feel like you are in a tough spot.
9. I say rent it, give the game a chance, sure the graphics are not up to standard but maybe they will work on that next year. Look at the good things in this game, the thrill of not being able to dominate every game against the computer because the pitcher and the batters seem more human and less robotic.

I found the game to lack character, realism, and most of all the graphics are crappy. I wish they would have stuck to the Espn franchise games. This one blows. You better off back tracking and getting Espn 2k4 or 2k5. I hope they do a better job on the next one, if it be a next one after this sorry attempt.

I was excited to finally get this game. Played it twice, yes twice and sold it. The worst piece of crap I have ever played in any sports game for PS or PS@. Graphics are a 1 out of 10. Game play about a 4 and thats being nice. Online play was so slow. Game its self has no way to jump through the in between pitch stuff. Too bad we are stuck with this crap. MVP was and still is the BEST!!!! Period.

I love this baseball game. It is easy to play and fun also. It keeps me so entertained that I don't want to stop playing it!
